Has Link Wheel Strategy Been Dead
As we all know, for all sites, traffic is the holy grail online and those that can drive traffic make the most money. Traffic is the holy grail in the Internet world and those that can drive traffic make the most money.
In order to gain more traffic to sites, people have tried many different techniques; But over time, these methods lose their effectiveness as search engines get wiser and wiser to these traffic building techniques. When it comes to methods of gaining traffic, link wheel strategy is a good way indeed, which is widely used by most webmasters. However, with the development of search engines, is link wheel strategy still useful to link building and attracting traffic? Has it been dead?
We all know that Google has sufficiently intelligent algorithm for tracking any process such as link farming that tries to manipulate the organic search results but we do not know how it works exactly. However, it won’t be wrong to consider that more and more people using the same technique will definitely attract attention and if Google finds it artificial, they will penalize or degrade its use.
With the soaring popularity of link wheel, Google and other search engines have gotten familiar with this link building strategy gradually. According to my personal experience, till the beginning of 2009 and even for some time later everything worked fine. Then Google’s ever changing algorithm got wise and started tracing the link wheels and disregard the links in it that resulted in de-indexing of spokes and in some cases the money pages also got wiped out from index.
So, if you are still spending much time on link wheels, then I advice you to stop it because it is just a waste of time. If you are a small business owner then I would suggest you to stop wasting time on link wheels. Anyway it decreases the quality of Internet. Still if you think that its worth the time and effort, ask yourself whether you would like to create some valuable content on your site or rather the same content on some other site. Of course, if you have much money, trying some link building services is a good choice too.
Linkwheel is useful even if someone says it is not. i got good backlinks and good SERPs because of Linkwheel. But one thing we should keep in mind that closed loop linkwheel is not preferable as compared to open loop.
